The San Diego Museum of Art has received an unexpected $100,000 bequest from the estate of the late Theresa Russell.
“We had absolutely no idea that she was out there loving us,” a museum spokeswoman said.
Russell, who died last April 27, was the widow of a retired mailman and a resident of Chula Vista. The Russells were not members of the museum, but Mrs. Russell divided the major portion of her estate between the museum and the San Diego Zoological Society.
