Anderson Hunt scored 14 points, and David Butler got 10 of his 13 in the first half as 12th-ranked Nevada Las Vegas routed New Mexico State, 79-58, Thursday night in a Big West Conference game at Las Vegas.
The Rebels (9-2 overall, 4-0 in the Big West) went on an 11-2 surge in the last 3 minutes of the first half to build a 41-28 lead. The Aggies (8-4, 1-1) never recovered.
Stacy Augmon added 10 points and 7 rebounds for Las Vegas.
Fresno State 61, San Jose State 54--Wilbert Hooker scored 11 of his 17 points in the second half, including 4 free throws in the final 15 seconds, to lift the Bulldogs past the Spartans at San Jose.
Jervis Cole added 20 points for Fresno State (7-4, 2-0), which rallied from a 10-point deficit to snap a 7-game losing streak against San Jose.
Dietrich Waters scored 16 points for San Jose (5-7, 1-3).
Utah State 85, Pacific 69--Nathan Grant had 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Greg Houskeeper also scored 15 points as the Aggies beat the Tigers at Logan, Utah.
The Aggies (3-8, 1-1) held the Tigers (4-6, 0-2) scoreless over a 5:09 stretch in the second half and scored 15 straight points to build a 60-43 lead.
