Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center this month will begin construction of an outpatient surgical center next to the hospital in Mission Viejo.
The $3-million project, called the Mission Ambulatory SurgiCenter, is a joint venture between the hospital and members of the hospital’s medical staff.
The center will have five operating rooms and is expected to be open in November. “It is going to give more options to patients and physicians and ultimately lower costs for less complicated procedures by offering an alternative to hospital surgery,” said Beth Groves, the hospital’s community relations coordinator.
