A 10-year-old Glendale boy died Tuesday of injuries he suffered when he was struck by an oncoming car Monday while he was riding his bicycle.
Police said Arnold Sung Kang was riding his bicycle in Glendale on Cedar Street toward Harvard Street when he was hit by a car driven by Martha Ramirez, 52. The accident occurred as Kang steered his bicycle off the sidewalk, between two parked cars and into Ramirez’s car’s path, police said.
Kang was taken to Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, police said. He died of internal injuries.
A preliminary police investigation found no negligence on the part of Ramirez. Police spokesman Dan Durand said she was driving at 25 m.p.h. or slower when the accident happened.
