Hunter and Coats Top Boxing Card at Irvine Marriott

Heavyweights Mike Hunter and Donnie Coats square off tonight in the main event of the monthly boxing program, which begins its fifth year at the Irvine Marriott Hotel.

Hunter (12-2) of Los Angeles replaces Mark Wills, who has the flu, according to promoter Don Fraser. Coats (7-5) scored a first-round knockout of Rocky Pepeli last October.

Welterweight Kenny Comer fights Aaron Brown of Los Angeles in a 6-round semi-main event. The first of six scheduled bouts begins at 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m. at the Marriott.
