Every city in Orange County but one has a curfew, a time in which anyone under the age of 18 should be home and not loitering on or in any public street, alley or park. Each of the cities’ municipal codes lists exceptions, including emergencies, attending a social or educational gathering approved by a parent or guardian or when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The “punishment” for breaking curfew is the same in each city--the minor will be taken to the police station. The police will contact the minor’s parents or legal guardians and ask them to come down and pick up the child.

* The curfew in Laguna Beach is 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for children 14 and younger, 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. for 15- and 16-year-olds, and midnight to 6 a.m. for 17-year-olds.
