Where’s the secretary’s union or women’s lib when we need them? I speak of best-picture nominee “Working Girl” and its characterization of working women. To show them with Zulu haircuts, with Joan Crawford ‘30s lips, with hooker-style clothes, and speaking as if they were still in first grade--wow!
And the final ignominy--that the be-all and end-all of a woman’s ambition is a tiny cubbyhole of an office in a sunless N.Y. City skyscraper without a tree or blade of grass in sight!
