2 Teens Arrested in Cat Mutilations

A spate of cat mutilations in Covina that some people thought may have been linked to satanic rituals was instead the work of two teen-agers who “just got carried away,” police said Wednesday.
“These kids aren’t devil worshipers or into satanism,” Covina Police Sgt. Kim Raney said. “It’s just one of those thing that pops into a kid’s head.”
The youths, age 16 and 17, were arrested Tuesday on the basis of information from anonymous tipsters, police said.
