Irvine : Professor to Speak on Democracy in China

Zheng-yuan Fu, a visiting professor in UC Irvine’s department of politics and society, will talk on “China’s Bid for Democracy--The Plan That Failed” at a meeting of the Democratic 69th Assembly District on July 19.
Fu, who also is a professor at the Chinese Academy, was imprisoned for many years during the Cultural Revolution.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the University Community Assn. Clubhouse, 4530 Sandburg Way, Irvine.
