The National Collegiate Athletic Assn. Division I Basketball Committee recommended awarding the men’s Final Four to four cities in the years 1994 through 1997.
The 1994 Final Four would go to Charlotte, N.C., followed by Seattle, the Meadowlands in New Jersey and Indianapolis.
The recommendations must be approved by the NCAA Division I championship committee and the NCAA executive committee, which meet Aug. 14-15.
Cedric Dempsey, chairman of the basketball committee, said the unprecedented step of selecting four cities at once was taken because of the cost involved in making presentations.
