Defending world champion Ayrton Senna of Brazil won the pole position for today’s German Grand Prix at Hockenheim, West Germany. Senna was timed in 1 minute 42.300 seconds, with a speed of 148.298 m.p.h. McLaren-Honda teammate Alain Prost of France had the second-fastest time, 1:43.295.
