Largest Family Home Sold on Long Island
What is described as the largest single-family home in the United States has been sold. The former home of financier Otto Kahn on Long Island has more than 112,000 square feet of living space and dwarfs San Simeon, the 40,000-square-foot house that Hearst built in California.
With nearly 20 acres of land, the home features 164 rooms, 39 fireplaces and a ballroom that’s larger than most single-family homes: 2,500 square feet.
