Sir Georg Solti will begin his farewell tour of Europe as music director of the Chicago Symphony next week with a series of concerts in eight countries that are already near sellouts, the orchestra said. The Hungarian-born Solti, 77, is scheduled to retire as music director in 1991. The concert tour, beginning Monday in London, will feature appearances in Salzburg, Lucerne, Munich, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Goteborg, Stockholm, Paris and Amsterdam.
