Your editorial (“Those Longer Lotto Odds,” Aug. 27) was a little too quick in putting all of the blame on the California lottery for trying to increase sales through super-large jackpots.
The Times runs big headlines and articles when the prize hits $60 million, while a mere $5 million winner could not buy his way into the classified ad section. And when was the last time you did a story on someone losing the lottery?
