Gas Prices Rise: Gasoline prices rose nearly a third of a penny over the past two weeks as retailers found that they could no longer absorb margin losses and passed on increased wholesale prices to consumers, the Lundberg Survey of 12,000 service stations nationwide found. The overall national price of a gallon of gasoline rose 0.31 cents to $1.09 a gallon for the week ended Sept. 22, according to the survey.
