College Soccer Roundup : Occidental Nips Caltech on Late Goal

Playing in his first college match Saturday, freshman Dylan Mungar scored the game-winning goal with 45 seconds to play to lift Occidental College over Caltech, 2-1, in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match at Caltech.
Caltech (1-9, 1-5) led, 1-0, until freshman forward Will Price scored with 14 minutes to play to tie the score.
Goalkeeper Lewis Tierney recorded six saves for Occidental (4-5-2, 3-1-2). Caltech took eight shots on goal.
In other men’s matches:
Chapman 2, CSUN 1 (OT)--Brian Wilson scored two goals, including the game-winner from 35 yards in overtime, to lift the Panthers in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. match at Chapman.
After Wilson had given Chapman a 1-0 lead, Northridge’s Bobby Guerrero tied the score with a first-half goal.
CSUN is 5-3-2 overall, 2-1 in conference play. Chapman is 6-3-3, 1-0-1.
Cal Lutheran 2, Biola 0--Larry Gidley scored on a Casey Pirih assist and Jesse Gallegos scored on a free kick as the Kingsmen shut out Biola in a nonconference match at Cal Lutheran.
All-American goalie Dave Salzwedel made eight saves and notched his fourth shutout for Cal Lutheran (6-4). Biola dropped to 6-5-3.
The Master’s 11, Menlo 2--Chris Palm and Russ Spencer each scored four goals as the Mustangs, ranked 16th in the National Assn. of Intercollegiate Athletics, cruised to a nonconference win at The Master’s.
Eraldo Guimaraes added two goals and Randy Whitfield one for the Mustangs (7-3-3), who outshot Menlo (1-6), 25-3.
