National Lumber & Supply: The Fountain Valley-based home improvement center company lost $2.4 million for the third quarter of fiscal 1990, compared to a year-earlier loss of $1.7 million. Sales for the quarter ended Oct. 31 declined 9%, to $33.9 million from $37.1 million. For the nine-month period, the company lost $4.4 million, contrasted with a loss of $2.6 million for the first three quarters of fiscal 1989. Sales declined 8%, to $107.8 million from $116.8 million.
