COUP JITTERS: An official of two Orange County-based companies doing business in the Philippines was closely monitoring the latest coup attempt in Manila (A1). . . . Mark A. Voorhis, president of VTN Corp. in Orange and chief financial officer of Shelly Associates Inc. of Tustin, said “there’s always some concern that if one of these things pushes too far it will create a problem” with investors financing Philippine projects. Voorhis expressed concern that Friday’s battles (above) might make it more difficult “to fight the perception that there is instability.”
