Lockheed to Close Unit: Lockheed Corp. said it will close a money-losing New Jersey unit and lay off 950 workers after the unit failed to win new business from the government in heated competition. Lockheed said it will consolidate operations at Plainfield, N.J.-based Lockheed Electronics Co. with another affiliate, Sanders Associates of Nashua, N.H., by May 1.
