Cop Gets Criminal--and Traffic Ticket

TORONTO — Police officer Edward Brennan caught the driver of a stolen car and earned a special commendation for good police work--and a traffic ticket for failing to halt at a stop sign during the high-speed chase.
Brennan’s lawyer said Friday: “What we have got is a situation where the law requires one thing, but the practical consequences of it are frightening. Police officers will stop at stop signs while people raiding a bank can speed off.”
