The sale of the Denver Nuggets, for $54 million, by Sidney Schlenker to a group of Chicago investors headed by Peter Bynoe and Bertram Lee, was completed almost six months after the sale was announced.
When initial efforts by the Chicago group fell apart, NBA Commissioner David Stern called television executive Robert Wussler into the deal. Wussler put $17 million into the deal, terms of which call for Wussler to be the club’s majority owner and Lee and Bynoe to be managing general partners.
