New $100-Million Plant Is Planned by Philips

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Philips Display Components Co. has announced plans to build a $100-million plant to produce color television picture tubes and future products for high-definition television applications.
Initially, more than 300 new jobs will be created by the plant’s construction, said Philips Display, a division of North American Philips Corp.
Although a specific plant location has not yet been selected, Philips is currently considering several sites in Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee and Kentucky.
