HOUSTON — Houston Baptist University has withdrawn as host of the 1990 Men’s Gymnastics Championships after an NCAA investigation of the school’s gymnastics program.
The event, scheduled for April 19 to 21 at Sam Houston Coliseum, will be moved to the University of Minnesota, the NCAA said.
Houston Baptist Athletic Director Ed Billings said the ineligibility of gymnasts Alfonso Rodriquez and Miguel Rubio because of NCAA rules violations would have made the event financially unsuccessful.
