Beverly Hills : Greystone Mansion Project

The City Council will decide Dec. 12 whether to authorize spending $16,000 to determine what preventive maintenance should be done to curtail further deterioration of Greystone Mansion, a historic building owned by the city.
“This project will cover just those items which, if left unattended, would cause further deterioration or a health or safety liability problem for the city,” said Richard Putnam, director of public services.
The mansion, located on Doheny Road in the foothills north of Sunset Boulevard, has been vacant since 1981, when it housed the American Film Institute. The council is considering using it as a meeting and conference center.
