Two Palmdale High football players involved in a scuffle with officials during a game pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery charges and were sentenced to probation and community service.
Darius Wilson and Edward Michael Warren, 18-year-old seniors, were put on two years’ probation by Newhall Municipal Court Judge H. Keith Byram in connection with the fight that occurred during their team’s game against Saugus High on Oct. 13.
Wilson, who body-slammed a referee during the fracas, also was ordered to perform 480 hours of community service. Warren, who jumped into the fray against a second official, was sentenced to 400 hours of community service.
