NAMES IN THE NEWS : Bellows Going to MediaNews

HOUSTON — James G. Bellows, a former newspaper editor whose broadcast projects included “Entertainment Tonight” and “USA Today on TV,” is joining MediaNews Group as senior vice president of news.
Bellows will oversee news and editorial operations of the Houston-based company. The company’s 22 daily and 29 non-daily publications include The Houston Post and The Denver Post.
William Dean Singleton, chairman of MediaNews, said that Bellows will assist editors of the company’s newspapers in editorial content, hiring and developing talent.
Bellows is a former editor at the New York Herald Tribune, The Washington Star and the Los Angeles Herald Examiner. He also worked for ABC News.
