THE SIDELINES : Bruins Swap Joyce for Christian

BOSTON — The Bruins, in a move for more scoring, today traded left wing Bobby Joyce to the Washington Capitals for center-right wing Dave Christian.
Christian, 30, a 10-year NHL veteran, has three goals and eight assists in 28 games this season. In his career, Christian, 6 feet, 175 pounds, has 272 goals and 354 assists in 734 games.
Joyce, 23, was in his second full season with the Bruins. He joined the Bruins and helped them reach the 1988 Stanley Cup Finals after playing on Canada’s Olympic hockey team in Calgary. In 115 NHL games, the 6-foot-1, 195-pound Joyce scored 26 goals with 38 assists, including one goal and two assists in 23 games this season.
