Funeral Held for Gallegly’s Mother

Funeral services for Della Gallegly, mother of Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley), were held Thursday in Whittier. She died Monday after a short illness, officials said. She was 79.

Gallegly, a homemaker, is survived by her husband, Chester, of Anaheim and sons Elton, of Simi Valley, and Allen, of Anaheim, said John Evans, spokesman for Hilgenfeld Mortuary in Anaheim. She also leaves a daughter, Elaine Compitello of New York state; a brother, Louis Williams of Oklahoma, and eight grandchildren.

Services for Gallegly, who died at Anaheim Memorial Hospital, were held at Rose Hills Rainbow Chapel in Whittier Thursday morning. She was born April 16, 1910, in Oklahoma.
