Stuart Novins; Former Moderator of ‘Face the Nation’

Stuart Novins, 75, a CBS newscaster for 35 years and probably best known as the moderator of “Face the Nation” from 1953 to 1960. Novins, who retired in 1975, won more than 50 awards for reporting and producing during his lengthy career. After retiring from CBS he joined the journalism faculty of the University of New Mexico and taught there until 1981. In Middlebury, Vt., on Dec. 7 of respiratory failure.
