Free agent pitcher Matt Young agreed to a one-year contract with the Seattle Mariners.
Young received a signing bonus of $112,000 and will be paid $475,000 in 1990.
Young, 31, was sidelined for all of the 1988 season and half of 1989’s because of elbow problems. He had a 1-4 record and a 6.75 ERA in 1989 with the Oakland Athletics.
