NLRB to Rule on Merit Pay Loss at Daily News

The union representing the approximately 250 editorial workers at the Daily News have asked the National Labor Relations Board to force the Woodland Hills-based newspaper to reinstate its program of annual merit raises for employees.
The Daily News stopped the program recently in a dispute with the union, The Newspaper Guild, which became the workers’ bargaining agent last May, the NLRB said. An NLRB judge held a hearing on the case last week. A ruling is expected within three or four months.
