MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Wisconsin has been given permission to talk to West Virginia Coach Don Nehlen about a vacant coaching position, a newspaper group reported today.

West Virginia Athletic Director Ed Pastilong said he received a telephone call from Pat Richter, Wisconsin’s newly named athletic director, on Tuesday, Thompson Newspapers reported. “He told me he’s putting together a list of prospective candidates and wanted to know if he could talk to Don,” Pastilong said. “I told him he had our permission.”
