Hart Shooters Find the Mark in Crunch Time

The fourth quarter has served as fifth gear for Hart High this season. The Indians (4-2) have scored at least 30 points in the final quarter of four games and are averaging 81 points.
“Our system is working to the point where we can put guys in and they can score,” Coach Greg Herrick said.
Last week, Micah Ohlman (21 points), Marty Downen (21) and Tony Valenzuela (22) traded team-high scoring performances in the Dos Pueblos tournament. Points have come in such bunches that the Indians even had a five-point play against Mission Viejo.
Chad Fotheringham made a three-point shot and Doug Rich was knocked down while setting a screen. Rich was awarded, and made, two free throws.
Long bombers: Sagy Koren of Granada Hills made six three-point baskets and scored 26 points in his team’s 73-60 victory over Chatsworth in the North Hollywood tournament consolation final. . . . Taft’s James Yoakum made eight of nine three-point attempts over three games to help lead his team to the Hamilton tournament title.
Reseda guard Mike Basowski took second place in the three-point shooting contest at the North Hollywood tournament, sinking 20 attempts in one minute.
