On the final day of the Hollywood Park fall meeting, Times handicapper Bob Mieszerski lost $60 when Stephen’s Sooner, his pick in the seventh race, finished second after his choice in the first half of the parlay, Ortega, won the sixth race. And so, Mieszerski, who started the meeting with a mythical $1,000 bankroll, wound up with $770.30--a loss of $229.70.
