A 17-year-old girl was killed early Wednesday in Chula Vista when the car she was riding in crashed into the back of a parked truck, police said.
The accident occurred about 2:55 a.m. when Gretchen Teckmeyer, 19, slammed her car into the rear of a one-ton truck that was legally parked in the 600 block of Hilltop Drive, a police spokeswoman said. Teckmeyer was treated for facial cuts at UC San Diego Medical Center and released, the spokeswoman said.
The identity of Teckmeyer’s passenger was withheld until her family could be notified. It is not known whether the two were wearing seat belts, the spokeswoman said.
