The Thousand Oaks High girls’ basketball tournament is a lot like those boxes of assorted chocolates you see around the holidays: There’s something for everybody.
With awards running as deep as 10th place, it is one of the rare tournaments in which three defeats doesn’t mean elimination.
Camarillo moved closer to the fifth-place trophy Wednesday, beating Flintridge Sacred Heart, 82-67.
Camarillo (6-5) will meet Hueneme Friday at 8:30 p.m. for the right to play for fifth place. Sacred Heart (6-3) will meet Ridgecrest Burroughs at 5 p.m. Friday for the right to play for eighth place.
Nichole Victoria led Camarillo with 27 points and six rebounds.
In other tournament games involving Valley-area teams:
Notre Dame 44, San Marcos 38--Kim Fischer scored 26 points to lead Notre Dame into the consolation semifinals. The Knights will meet Nordhoff today at 5 p.m.
Pasadena 48, Louisville 47 (2 OTs)--Louisville was knocked from the running for the consolation title despite Mary Hudson’s 17 points. The Royals will meet San Luis Obispo at noon today for a chance to play for 10th place.
