NATION IN BRIEF : WASHINGTON, D.C. : Two Race Bias Claims Against FBI Settled

The FBI settled racial discrimination complaints by two black employees in cities where black agent Donald Rochon contends he was harassed by white colleagues, attorneys said. The cases involved Leadell Lee, an agent in the Chicago office, and Gertie Armstrong, a clerk in Omaha. The terms of the settlements could not be learned. Rochon’s attorney hailed the settlements as vindication of his client’s charges and said he would call Lee and Armstrong as witnesses if Rochon’s case goes to trial. Rochon says he was the butt of racial jokes and death threats.
