WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : Cold-Shooting USC Loses 7th in a Row

The Arizona women’s basketball team handed cold-shooting USC its seventh consecutive loss Thursday night, defeating the Trojans, 58-53, in a Pacific 10 Conference game in Tucson.
Although the Trojans shot only 32%, they got 16 points from senior guard Tammy Hammond while Rosalind Hodge had 17 rebounds. USC falls to 0-2 in conference play and 2-7 overall. Arizona is 1-2 in conference play and 8-6 overall.
UCLA 77, Arizona State 67--Behind a career-high 22 points from freshman point guard Nicole Anderson, the Bruins won their third consecutive game in defeating the Sun Devils in Tempe.
Sophomore guard DeDe Mosman had a career-high 17 points for UCLA. Fran Ciak led Arizona State with 24 points. UCLA is 2-0 in conference play and 7-5 overall. The Sun Devils are 0-3 and 8-5.
