Health-Care Executives Best Paid: Health-care chief executives were the nation’s highest-paid bosses in 1989, according to a Forbes survey. The magazine said the median compensation for health-care executives was $1.42 million, compared to $1.31 for the second-ranked industry, entertainment. Executives in business services had median incomes of $1.28 million, aerospace and defense had $1.27 million and energy executives $1.15 million. Stamford, Conn., was the city with the highest median pay for CEOs--$1.71 million. Los Angeles ranked fourth with $1.24 million.
