Up to 15 people were hurt when a bomb exploded at a British army depot used by part-time soldiers, police said. Residents were evacuated from nearby apartments and police sealed off surrounding streets. The blast occurred during a private party at the central London headquarters of the Honorable Artillery Company, the capital’s best-known army reserve unit. Police said the bomb was planted on the roof of the building. There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but the Irish Republican Army has recently conducted a series of attacks on army installations and personnel in Britain and on the Continent.
