Gencorp: The Fairlawn, Ohio, aerospace and automobile products producer said second-quarter net income rose 64% to $28 million, while sales dipped 13% to $458 million. Net income for the 1990 and 1989 quarters included income from discontinued operations of $18 million and $8 million, respectively. The sales decline occurred primarily in the aerospace/defense segment, accompanied by a decline in sales in the polymer products segment and an increase in automotive sales.
