Parker Meets Poll for IBC Junior Featherweight Title
- Share via
After winning 24 of his first 25 fights, Edward (Pee Wee) Parker of Houston hit a losing streak that knew no bounds--not even the final bell.
After he won by decision over Refugio Rojas in February, Parker lost the right to fight for 60 days when he tested positive for cocaine. He was suspended by the California State Athletic Commission.
Returning to the ring last month, Parker lost a split decision to Frankie Mitchell.
But Parker can put all that behind him tonight at the Forum if he can beat Jesus Poll (21-3-3, four knockouts) of Los Angeles in the 12-round main event for the International Boxing Council junior featherweight (126 pounds) title.
Also on tonight’s seven-fight card will be a 10-round featherweight match between Rafael Ruelas (17-0, 14 knockouts) of the Ten Goose Boxing Club of North Hollywood and Abe Gomez (14-4-1, seven knockouts) of Arleta.
Boxing begins at 7 p.m.
