Robert P. Roman, 41, former associate education director of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art who was instrumental in establishing a number of innovative projects there. Among them were the Barrier-Free programs that provide exhibits and projects for the aged and disabled; the exhibition “With More Than One Sense,” which featured works of contemporary artists directed to the disabled, and “Evenings for Educators,” a major visual education service for teachers that has gained national attention. In 1983, Roman became director of education at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston and in 1987 director of the Herron School of Art in Indianapolis.
