A firefighter received minor injuries Saturday night after he was dragged by a car driven by a 24-year-old Reseda man suspected of selling fireworks, authorities said.
Los Angeles firefighters found a man selling fireworks from his car in the parking lot of a convenience store at Saticoy Street and Tampa Avenue about 8:30 p.m., Fire Department spokesman Pat Marek said. When confronted, the man jumped into his car and, as he closed the door, it caught the belt buckle of a firefighter, Marek said.
He drove away, dragging the firefighter for about 100 feet before the belt broke. The suspect, who was not identified by police, was stopped and arrested, Marek said.
The firefighter suffered minor cuts and bruises.
