Driver Is Killed in Freeway Mishap

COSTA MESA — A Capistrano Beach motorist was killed early Thursday after he lost control of his vehicle and drove over a freeway embankment, the California Highway Patrol.
The driver, Jason Wells, 20, landed in a lumberyard after he was thrown about 30 feet from his 1986 Toyota Tercel, CHP Officer Angel Johnson said.
The accident occurred around 12:50 a.m. as Wells was about to enter the southbound lanes of the Corona del Mar Freeway from the southbound lanes of the Costa Mesa Freeway.
