Former Syracuse star Stephen Thompson, who was not selected in the NBA draft, said he will try out with the Denver Nuggets.
Thompson, from Crenshaw High School, will attend Denver’s free-agent camp July 19-28.
NBA scouts said after last week’s draft that it was probably best for Thompson that he wasn’t drafted because he will be able to choose a team where he fits in.
The Nuggets play the fast-break style that best suits the 6-3 guard, who averaged 18 points per game his last two seasons at Syracuse.
