Alaska Gives 2 Live Crew the Cold Shoulder: Officials in Anchorage, Alaska, say the controversial rap band 2 Live Crew will be barred from appearing at a concert in a city facility next month. A promoter wanted to present the group in the city-owned Egan Convention Center on Aug. 3, but Anchorage Mayor Tom Fink and other city officials said the group was too much trouble. The Alaskan officials said their decision was based on negative news accounts about the group.
