Comedy Shows to Raise Money for Fire Victims

KNBC weatherman Fritz Coleman will be the host of a comedy show to raise money for victims of the recent brush fire that destroyed 46 Glendale homes and damaged 20 others, Glendale officials announced this week.
Coleman, a Glendale resident, contacted Mayor Larry Zarian and offered to sign several stand-up comics to perform at a benefit for the fire victims, city officials said. The names of the participating comics were not immediately announced.
Proceeds will be given to the Glendale-Crescenta Valley chapter of the American Red Cross, which is assisting the fire victims.
The event will be held Aug. 6 at the Glendale Centre Theatre, 324 N. Orange St. Two shows will be held--at 7:15 and 9:15 p.m. Doors will open 30 minutes before each show; seating will be on a first-come basis.
Tickets, at $20 each, will cover the show and refreshments donated by area catering firms. Tickets can be purchased between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. weekdays in Room 120 at Glendale City Hall, 613 E.
