Lawrence W. Nagin has been appointed senior vice president-corporate and external affairs and general counsel of UAL Corp. and of its United Airlines subsidiary. He replaces Edward H. Hoenicke, who is retiring. Nagin, 49, who had been senior vice president-corporate and external affairs, joined UAL in 1988.
