Media Spending Forecast to Slow: Media spending will grow by 7.6% a year to $461.3 billion by 1994, slowing from its 8.9% pace of the past five years, New York investment banker Veronis Suhler & Associates said. It expects the slowdown because of “maturation of the technology-driven industries of the 1980s,” such as home video, cable TV, compact disc recordings and business information.
